Boulder Taiko will be providing an engaging and enriching experience in the world of Taiko drumming for our young participants in 2025.

Course Overview
Dates: Friday, April 4 to Friday, May 23, 2025, 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm
Age Range: Open to ages 6 to 12 years old. Beginners welcome!
Duration: 75 minutes. Children may join at any time during the course.
Cost: $95 per month. No makeup class: 8 sessions total

We highly recommend enrolling in the two-month course for children who wish to perform at the Boulder Creek Festival on Sunday May 25, 2025.
Included with the course memberships is the rental of a set of Bachi (drum sticks), which is regularly $10 per month. Purchase of your own set is also available at $28.37 per set (Made in Japan), available from Julia Misawa directly.​
Kids Taiko Spring Course Description
Embark on a Taiko Journey with our spring Kids Taiko Course! This fun and engaging 8-week course is for kids ages 6-12 and includes stretching, learning Japanese, a snack break, fun ball games, and of course, Taiko drumming!
Led by experienced instructor, Julia Misawa, this course offers a dynamic blend of rhythm, movement, and cultural exploration.
​
Throughout the program, participants will learn fundamental Taiko drumming techniques, including stance, striking, rhythm patterns, and a new song(s), all while fostering teamwork, discipline, and confidence. Each session is carefully crafted to engage young learners and inspire a lifelong appreciation for music and Japanese culture.

In addition to Matsuri Taiko, students will be learning and performing Hiryu Sandan Gaeshi – the Flying Dragon song, which symbolizes happiness, prosperity, and longevity.
