2025 Colorado Aikido University Workshop Instructors
This year, we’re thrilled to present an exceptional lineup of all-female instructors, each bringing a unique tradition and experience to our event.
Danielle Books kicked off her aikido journey in 2003 in Albuquerque, NM, before diving deeper under the guidance of Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan and Tres Hofmeister Sensei at Boulder Aikikai in 2008. She’s an ukemi enthusiast at heart, eager to share the thrill of fluid movement and connection that aikido offers.
Tyffany Stipetic stepped onto the aikido mat in 2005 in Denver, CO, and by 2009, she was training at Kiryu Aikido with Andrew Blevins Sensei. In 2013, she co-founded Kinjo Dojo alongside Charles Bland and later became a dedicated student of Patricia Hendricks Shihan, blending innovation with tradition in her practice.
Jude Blitz has been a cornerstone of aikido at Naropa University since 1991, possibly the longest-serving university instructor nationwide. Her teaching weaves a philosophical and relational tapestry, enriched by years training with luminaries like Mitsugi Saotome and Hiroshi Ikeda.
The Colorado Aikido University Workshop launched in 2018 to bridge the gap between students at the Colorado School of Mines and the wider aikido community. Started as a local initiative, it has since blossomed, welcoming CU Boulder and Naropa into the fold.
Today, it stands as one of the region’s most vibrant, community-driven aikido gatherings, uniting practitioners of all levels for a dynamic experience.
Practice with inspiring instructors while supporting three key missions
Fostering community connection – Aikido is our shared spark, and there’s nothing like extending that enthusiasm beyond our regular dojo crew to new faces and friends.
Welcoming the next generation – This event is free and designed with university students in mind, opening the door for budding aikidoka to dive into the practice without barriers.
Promoting positive impact – Aikido folks often care deeply about the world. Here’s a chance to unite around that spirit, with a portion of proceeds fueling an Earth-friendly nonprofit making a difference.
Come for the training, stay for the purpose!
